The State Board of Regents was created in 1925 and consisted of nine members appointed by the Governor for four-year terms. The Board took over the powers and duties exercised by the State Board of Administration in regards to the University of Kansas (Lawrence), the Kansas State Agricultural College (Kansas State University - Manhattan) and all branch experiment stations, and the Kansas State Teachers Colleges at Pittsburg, Emporia and Hays, with the exception of the duties conferred by law upo...
